Office 2013: Getting 5 days trial instead of 60 days

I download 700MB Office 2013 from Microsoft's Technet Evaluation Center after learning (from the same website) that the evaluation period is 60 days. But after installing, the Office is saying that evaluation period is 5 days. I don't have product key to enter as Technet Evaluation Center gave this error:

Your product key is:

Error: 'Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.'

I tried obtaining the key several times but every time the website gave the same error.

Hi,

Have you ever activated Office with this trial product key before?

Or you can contact your customer service center to confirm the rest trial period. Im unable to give you a definite answer on the forum.

Thanks for reply.

I haven't entered any product key, because I don't have any product key.

You can download the Office 2013 from Technet Evaluation Center:

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/evaluate-office-professional-plus-2013

and see for yourself.

I downloaded Office from the above link. If you open the link, it says that the evaluation is for 60 days. But after installing the Office, when I start say Office Word, it asks for product key which I don't have so I proceed without it. Then the Office says that I've 5 days remaining for the evaluation.

We had the exact same problem.

Our SharePoint Admin guy, Steve, nailed it:

Immediately after you have registered to download the product, the product key appears on the screen. Once you have downloaded the product, it is removed and you can find no other reference to it! Completely threw me!

So just register to download the same product with a different email address, copy the product key that is displayed, and then use that key to activate the product you have already downloaded and installed.

Hope this helps!

Thats not the solution to the problem we are all getting...

Your product key is:

Error: 'Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.'

So no matter what email address we try we dont get a product key to copy

Hi Anthony,

Since this is an old thread, if you need further assistance regarding the issue discussed here, I'd recommend you post a new question via:
