Office 2010 want clean PST that does NOT import from old (corrupted) PST

I have had issues for 20 months with outlook.

I am trying to create a clean install of Outlook (and all of Office) that doesnt pull data from my old PST file, but when I uninstall and reinstall Office, it still opens (or wants to open when I rename the folders) those old Outlook pst files. It shows the old user and wont let me delete that info til it loads it all into the new user with the same email. Since the old PST is probably corrupted, I just want it clean to import CSV files.

All I want is a completely fresh install of Outlook (and all of Office)2010. Is that possible? Shouldnt be that hard but I have spent all afternoon trying to do it.

With Outlook closed, simplest, cleanest, quickest way to do a "fresh install" of Outlook is to use the Control Panel <Mail> app and create a new profile (making it the default when done).

Uninstalling/re-installing Outlook does not change the existing Outlook profiles which persist.

Go to C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\user@domain.ost and either rename (suggested) or delete the .ost file and restart Outlook. Outlook will create a new .ost file.

or

To start Outlook with a new new .ost file, go to the start menu and in run type
outlook.exe /cleanpst

This method will allow you to use your same profile. If you don't care about losing anything from your profile, than follow the steps of Keith Langmead.
