Office 2010 Quick Contacts option not available in To-Do Bar

Hi,

For one user till yesterday he can able to view the presence status in Outlook (In Quick Contacts option) But suddenly the Quick contacts option is disappeared. I try to enable to the option through VIEW > TO-DO BAR > QUICK CONTACTS (Enable)

But I am not able to see the option Quick Contacts under To-Do Bar. Other Options like appointment, Date Navigator, Tasks List are available.

Let me know how to Bring the option back. (We are Using Lync Server 2010 and Outlook 2010 - The same is working for me)

Thanks

Krishna

Hi krishna,

Try to reset the view.

Click Start->Run and type Outlook.exe /cleanviews and click OK.

If it still not work, I suggest you creating a new outlook profile. How to do this, you can refer to this article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/829918

This did not fix my issue.  I am running Lync Client and Outlook 2010.  I have run the following commands and Quick Contacts is still not showing up:

outlook /resettodobar

outlook /cleanviews

I have also created a new profile, and it is still not fixed.  I am also up to date on all my patches.

Facing the same issue. Running Lync and Outlook 2010, cant see any option to enable Quick Contacts in the To-DO bar. Tried to reset outlook, recreated a new profile, cleaned the views but no luck. Any help is much appreciated.

It might depend on the order of installation. Perhaps Lync/MOC must be installed subsequent to Outlook. Installing the update mentioned below, did require me to close Outlook 2010, but not Word or Excel, in order to avoid restarting, so the MOC installer does mess with the Outlook bits.

I couldn't see the option to enable "Quick Contacts" when I was running version 3.5.6907.0 of MOC (Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 R2), but after upgrading to v3.5.6907.244 (Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 R2 Hotfix KB 2647093), which I downloaded here http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/confirmation.aspx?id=21547, with a description of changes herehttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/2028888 it now shows up.

Once the hotfix is applied, the pane can be displayed/hidden by following these instructions:http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/turn-on-or-off-quick-contacts-in-the-to-do-bar-HA101873766.aspx

I have run into this issue with users before and the  Outlook.exe /cleanviews commnand has fixed it, however, I was just upgraded to Windows 7 and Outlook.exe /cleanviews alone did not work. I had to uninstall Lync, reinstall Lync and then Outlook.exe /cleanviews which finally brought my Quick Contacts back. The difference in this case was that the presence indicators were not working in Outlook either.

I'm using Lync as well and I was experiencing the same issue. This fixed it for me:

Go to the control panel, then program and features.

Select Microsoft Lync 2013 product, then change, then repair.

After that is finished, then do and change and repair on the Microsoft Office Standard 2010 product.

Reboot. After that Lync began displaying in the To Do bar again.
