OWA with multiple domains
We have a domain named mytown.org and OWA users get sent through the redirection to automatically go to https://mail.mytown.org/exchange. That works fine. We want to change our domain name to mytownma.govWe want to make it so that users who try to go to the mytown.org domain get redirected to https://mail.mytownma.gov/exchangeI cannot seem to find any good documentation for this procedure. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Hiya chap, (take a backup of the IIS metabase before starting); On the Exchange Server that is providing OWA access From IIS you will have a "Default Web Site" which obviously contains the current details of "mail.mytown.org" - including the SSL certificate. Create a new Web site on the IIS server with a host header of "mail.MyTown.org" and assign the old SSL cert to this website. When you have done that you can create a /exchange virtual directory which you can then configure as a redirection to a URL. On your Original website you can modify the settings to reflect the "mail.mytownma.gov" - e.g. new SSL certificate and Host header, then configure the redirection URL (configured above) to the mail.mytownma.gov/Exchange If you need me to expand let me know Cheers A

Hello Andy and thanks for the response. I have tried some things along the same lines as you suggested, but with no luck. I will try what you have suggested because it sounds like it will work. Another thing I didn't mention in my original post. We want to eliminate the mytown.org domain completely. We want users who do not know about the new domain to get automatically redirected until they learn of the new domain. I do not know if this will change what you have suggested. Sorry if my questions/comments are elementary, but I have little experience with Exchange and this was dropped in my lap.

Hiya chap - never worry about asking questions - it is how we all learn, I hope that you will continue to work with Exchange as when you get to know it - it is a brilliant product. Anyway - back to you question; Essentially both sites will become their own entities - the only difference is that one site will redirect to the new "where everybody should be site". New users should be give the new url, and old users will be directed to the new address. - you can then at our own pace send a few mails to the old users stating that the old URL will be ceased at a time of your choosing. If you need any more help just feel free to ask. A
