OWA with blank screen for a single user

Hello. I need some help to troubleshoot a situation on OWA 2013.

This is my scenario: I have a Windows Server 2012 (Not R2) fully updated with Exchange Server 2013 SP1 running.

I have 4 mailbox databases and about 260 mailboxs distributed among them.

My users, can connect through Outloook or OWA internal and external of my network. But theres a single user, which when he logon his account through OWA that shows a blank page with no script error, no source code, nothing. Just blank.

I had done some things to try to fix this with no success.

Had done this http://sumoomicrosoft.blogspot.de/2012/11/exchange-2013-emc-blank-page.html

Had tried to move the mailbox to another database.

Read entry by entry on event viewer to see if i find some error or information about this and no success so far.

Had removed and recreated OWA virtual directory and nothing happened. Still the same damn blank page.

On iis log, theres no usefull information about this access and i have no idea what else i could do to see if i can fix this.

What else you guys suggest for me to check?

Best reggards,

Kelson

Just to check off some basics, does this happen on every computer he uses? Or could it be a problem with his browser?

Do the other clients work fine? eg, Outlook, smartphone/tablet...

On his mailbox, does he have Outlook WebApp enabled, and is he using the same policy as everyone else?

Hi,

Same thing happened for two of ten test accounts that was moved from 2010 to 2013.

I had to clear the all my IE cache.

As a test, try another web browser.

Hi Kelson,

From your description, only one user has this issue. I recommend you browse OWA on local Exchange server and then check the result.

What's more, after recreating OWA virtual directory, you need to do IISReset.

Hope it helps.

Best regards,
Amy

Amy, had removed and recreated OWA virtual directory, reseted iis with iisreset /noforce and iisreset.

On local server, happens the same. It points to https://webmail.contoso.com/owa/auth.owa with a white page. This page has no source code, no script error, nothing. just freeze there...

If it works on other PCs and browsers, then it must be something with the account or mailbox...

You could look at the Role Assignment Policy and compare it to another user to see if they are different for any reason.

get-mailbox "<mailbox name>" | Select-Object RoleAssignmentPolicy

Also, check the user group membership, and compare it to another user.

Import-Module ActiveDirectory

Get-ADPrincipalGroupMembership <user name> | Select-Object Name

Perhaps you could try: set-mailbox -id userid -applymandatoryproperties

Just a thought, does the user have any characters in their user name or first, last name that could be messing with the browser? Also, do you get the same result in a non-IE browser?

Shelly, yes... It happens in all browsers and all computers just with that user. Funny thing is that's kinda random. If i reset iis, the user which had this problem, will not have it anymore but a new one will start to show this problem...

Then  researching my event view, i found this event:

Well... it still happening the same thing... Few users have blank page while others access normaly.

All policies are the same, ad groups also the same...

Mailbox databases are ok, nothing on logs and no failure on passwords.

Checked ad security tab for every user and they're all the same...

No more ideas to fix this...

Hello Kelson,

Please increase the queue length to 10000 and do iisreset again to see if the affected users are working well now.

Thanks!

I am experiencing the same issue as this user. This step did not resolve the issue for the single user experiencing the blank page in my AD.

Sorry.

Silver Shen, thanks... That worked for me...

Seems like my issue is resolved. Thank you! Can you please explain, what "Queue Length" parameter changes? I wander why it is not increased by default?
