OWA settings missing from Options tab.
We have a small organisation (just over 500 employee's) and we recently migrated from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007. We have been getting reports that some of our user's who access email via OWA, that they are missing certain options. From within the Options tab - they do not have General or Fonts options listed. We've checked all our settings on our end that we can think of that would cause this. Whats more bizarre is that it appears to be random people in the organization that are having this issue. The fact that I can re-create these issues on my end tells me it is account specific and not a browser issue (I have all the options just fine within my OWA, but when I log into one of the affected OWA user's accounts on my system, I see exactly the same issue they see for their account).

Are they possibly have OWA lite checked when they login through IE or using Firefox which only uses OWA lite?-Steve Joe

That was the first thing we looked at, but it doesn't appear to be the case. Its quite strange the way its behaving. As I mentioned, I tried logging into their account on my own machine in a different office. I made sure that OWA lite was not checked. It works fine for me when I log into my own OWA account. This is why I believe it is some sort of account level restriction that appears to force the user into lite mode, even if lite mode is not enabled. I tried comparing my settings from Exchange with the affected users but not seeing any differences off hand that would cause this, but still - the issue remains where I can re-create the person's problem exactly using their account on a different machine in a different office - in a different province - and lite mode is not enabled but still comes up in what appears to be lite mode. I had even thought that perhaps it could be caused by the fact that they have Blackberry's and we're using Blackberry Enterprise Server for access to their email. But that got shot down cause the others in my IT department have blackberry's and have not had this problem. I even thought browser issue. I tried using IE 8, Firefox, and even Chrome. They all work fine for me to access OWA webmail using my own credentials. The moment I log out and switch to one of the affected users - it seems to go into lite mode - even with lite mode not set. Any other possibilities other than setting lite mode from within the browser? Thanks :)

Can you login to one of the user accounts and see if they checked the Use the blind and low vision experience box under options and accessibility? It looks like if they checked this during the first attempt to login that it defaults them to OWA lite. I tested myself for the first time and got the same results you are seeing.-Steve

I will see if I can do that today! Thanks for the tip. I'll reply back as soon as I have a result either way. Today just got busy lol someone made changes to our exchange server within the last 30 min and now no incoming mail from outside sources are getting through lol No one is owning up to making the change lol We'll get it back on track lol

Has any segmentation been applied via the Exchange 2007 UI?

This is why I believe it is some sort of account level restriction that appears to force the user into lite mode, even if lite mode is not enabled. Any other possibilities other than setting lite mode from within the browser? Hi,Any update? Is there any incoming mails from external source now?Yes. You can use cmdlet Set-CASMailbox to set per-user segmentation.More details: How to Manage Segmentation in Outlook Web Access<!----> http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123962(EXCHG.80).aspxFrank Wang
