OWA on a 2003 exchange server
Hello! Excuse me for not beeing able to fully express myself on this matter. We have a webmail server on w2k exchange in another country. This has RSA authetification before authentitication against the right domain and server and then sends the user to the right mailserver. OWA comes up, but the layout is wierd and unfunctional : http://www.jobbiasker.no/owaerror.jpg Any suggestions to what this might be? This worked before when we also had a W2K exchange server, but when we launched a new W2k3 serverthis happened. Are there any compatibility issues here? Best regards Tom

Hi Tom, Typically this is caused by the Front-end server being at a patch level newer then the back-end server. Fully patch the back-end server, and the problem should go away. Let me know if that fixes it!Dan Holton

Tom, If I readyour post correctly,it appears that you have an Exchange 2000 Front End server with at leastone Exchange 2003 back end server. If this is the case, thebehavior you're experiencing is due to the Exchange 2000 Front End server not being able to correctly interpret the data presented by the 2003 Back End. The best practice for upgrading an Exchange organization is to start at the perimeter (in this case the front end, or webmail server) and move in to hub/bridgeheads and finally to the mailbox servers. In order to resolve your issue, you will have to either upgrade all the Front end servers to at least the same version/service pack/patch (ie Exchange 2003 SP2, etc) level as the most up-to-date back end server or deploy Exchange 2007 Server with the Client Access Server role applied. This article discusses the benefits of running Exchange 2003 as well as some of the requirements and dependancies, includingwhat I just described: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822178/en-us Regards, Larry
