OWA on Exchange 2003 WITHOUT using seperate Front and Back end servers?
Due to budegtary constraints, it is not practical for us to buy another Exchange 2003 to run on a Front End server, but I need to set up OWA on my Exchange 2003 server system. Is it possible to do this, with the Exch. Server only? Thanks

You can run OWA and the Back end all off the same server.Mark Morowczynski|MCT| MCSE 2003:Messaging, Security|MCITP:ES, SA,EA|MCTS:Windows Mobile Admin|Security+|http://almostdailytech.com

HI, yes its possible. You must enable Form based Authentication on the Exchange Virtual Server.Refer below article BTW-Microsoft best practice is install front-end server and enables the OWA on that server. ResourceConfiguring Forms-Based Authentication in OWA and Exchange 2003RegardsChinthaka

Another type of deployment scenario involves not deploying dedicated front-end Exchange computers (also known as a back-end only deployment). In this situation, the Exchange 2003 computer must be running under Windows Server 2003 -------Refer to < How to manage Outlook Web Access features in Exchange Server 2003>
