OWA not working for Exchange 2007
I installed Exchange 2007 on a new Server 2003 R2 machine. I successfullyinstalled the Active Directory from the old SBS 2003 and transferred the mailboxes from the old Exchange 2003 machine. Everyone's local mailboxes are working fine, as are Public Folders. However, I cannot figure out how to get Outlook Web Access (or Outlook Anywhere) working. Employees can VPN into the new server fine and access e-mail using Outlook that way, but when they try the https://mycompany.com/owa, we get the standard certificate warning and whenthey click on go to the website anyway, it gives a "440 Login Timeout" error. The standard OWA login screen never appears. I have configured & enabled Forms Based Authentication, including restarting IIS. As for Outlook Anywhere, I read that I need to install a third party SSL, so I purchased one. However the installation directions require me to generate a key from the website where I want to have it installed. The only Web Site in IIS is the Default Web Site, and it doesn't give me the option under Properties, Directory Security, Server Certificate, to generate a key or install a new certificate. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The last question about the SSL certificate can be answered as follows: I does not really make any difference where the CSR (Certificate Signing Request) is generated. Using the IIS site installed with 2007, expand the Web Sites level and add another site, call it CSR, use C:\inetpub for the directory and complete the Wizard. The name and directory are immaterial, really. Open the properties page for the new site and select the directory security tab. Click on the server certificate tab and select generate new CSR. Go through the wizard as recommended by your certificate authority. The final productwill be a CSR file, located as specified in the wizard. Cut and paste the text in the CSR file into the application to your cert vendor. From this point on, the steps are standard. When you have the new Cert installed, the certificate applet in MMC to export the cert into a PFX file, with key into a file. The PFX file can be imported into any IIS site or virtual server as needed. Regards, Roy
