OWA not indexing new emails Exchange 2007
I had several different users complaining that whenever they did a search, it was only showing old emails but nothing recent. We have 3 exchange servers and a bunch of databases spread across all 3. I ran the “Resetsearchindex -force –all” Cmd on the exchange shell. When you do a search now from OWA, there is this error before searching: “Search results may take a long time to appear because Microsoft Search is unavailable. Results will not include matches in the email body” The service is running properly on all 3 servers. The searches now are coming up older than before. This take a while to process? The environment is Exchange 2007 SP1 Rollup9. Is there something additional I should do? Any help would be appreciated

Hi Roberto, Please try to follow the steps below to troubleshoot the issue. Step1: Have you run the test-exchangesearch command? Please paste the result here. Test-ExchangeSearch username | fl Step2: I think you should run ResetSearchIndex.ps1 [-force] -all. Please try to rerun the command and check whether the issue persists. for detailed, please see, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/945077/en-us Step3: If the issue persists, we should manually rename the catalog file by the following steps, 1. Stop "Microsoft Search" and "Microsoft Exchange Search Indexer" service. 2. Find the mailbox store where affected users mailbox exist. 3. Rename the Catalog folder to .old 4. Start "Microsoft Search" and "Microsoft Exchange Search Indexer" service. 5. This will create new set of catalog folder under the database path location. 6. Give sometime for the creation of catalog. Please do let me know if the steps below cannot help you.
