OWA in X2k3
Heres my problem: Recently installed Exchange 2003 Standard. Server is Windows 2000 SP4. I can't seem to get OWA to work. Single exchange server setup. no FE/BE. When I try to connect vis IE7 I get the network logon box then,"SERVER APPLICATION ERROR" The server has encountered an error while loading an application during the processing of your request. Please refer to the event log for more detail information. Please contact the server administrator for assistance. I think the issue is in IIS, but I am not sure. Any help would be appreciated Thanks, Bruce1980

Thanks, I made the changes quoted in the KB article you mentioned. Can you recommend any other sites or blogs for IIS? This isgoing to take more troubleshooting. Everything I find is for an Exchange config with a front end and backend server setup. I have one exchange server in a DMZ. Thanks, Bruce

Hi Bruce, I understand the issue persists. Before going further, you must make sure the only root cause of this issue is IIS. You can refer to the steps below to determine if Exchange or IIS Causes the Error Create a new virtual directory in IIS. Enable basic authentication and disable anonymous access on your new virtual directory. Add a sample HTML document to the directory. Verify that you can access the document from a Web browser. If you can access your sample HTML document, you know the problem is not related to IIS. If you follow these procedures and cannot access the document, the problem is probably external to Exchange and Outlook Web Access, and you should investigate permissions or other configurations you may have made in IIS. For more information, you can refer to the following article(Its also fit for Exchange 2003): Troubleshooting Outlook Web Access in Microsoft Exchange 2000 http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=105caf81-9a3a-469f-9014-eedf45f8eb92&DisplayLang=en Regarding the IIS website, you can visit http://www.iis.net/ which is an official IIS website. If you have any issue specializing in IIS, you can wirte a post in its forums. If your OWA issue persists, please let me know the latest related error message in event log. I await your reply. Thanks, Elvis
