OWA asking for two logins.......
We're setting up our first install of Exchange 2007 SP1 on 2008 Server with the default typical installation setup. In testing OWA access with this you are asked twice for user name and password. here are the exact steps: enter URL (https), get certificate warning since we are still using the default self-signed cert, then you get a small box asking for credentials - enter credentials, you receive another certificate warning, then you get the standard full page OWA logon. A little Google research leads me to believe that this has something to do with forms based authentication versus standard windows authentication. Is it actually using both? How will we fix it so we just get the full forms based screen? Thanks so much,Randy

What URL are you using? Should be: https://server.domain.com/owa BTW, since this is a new installation, be sure to run ExBpa as well.

If I remember correctly I used https://servername/exchange . ExBpa has been ran - thanks for the reminder.

Exchange 2007's URL is /owa rather than /exchange. If you are not using Forms Based Authentication, that might account for the extra login.Jim McBee - Blog - http://mostlyexchange.blogspot.com

We're not intentionally not using Forms Based Authentication. We're using whatever the default web setup is. I'll try the /owa URL next week.

Also, someone on the open newsgroup mentioned using a signed certificate. I assume that has nothing to do with this authentication question - correct?

Didn't see your post at the time I wrote that Rich. No ISA server and the first box is the two line box.Randy

Hi Randy, Any update regarding the issue? Whether the issue persists when logging OWA by using /owa rather than /exchange?Thanks,Mike
