OWA and ECP virtual directories change authentication

Hello al

running Exchange 2013 RU8. I want to change the authentication settings on the /ECP virtual directory from FBA to WindowsAuthentication, however before i do this i want to make sure that changing the auth settings on the ECP virtual dir, doesn'teffect the OWA virtual dir. I know the two are tightly integrated, and i want to maintain FBA for OWA

ECP and OWA need to have the same authentication set for each vdir.  When you change the authentication for one, you will receive a pop-up warning asking you to remember to set the other vdir with the same permissions.

Your only option may be to create a new vdir for ECP with the authentication that you want, assign a new IP to this vdir and new DNS name.

Thanks,

Jason

Jason, for creating new vdirs.........http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2015/02/11/configuring-multiple-owa-ecp-virtual-directories-on-the-exchange-2013-client-access-server-role.aspx specifies "on the client access server"

Do the same steps apply to multi role servers (CAS/Mailbox)?  I have a requirement for 2 owa/ecp sites as they require different authentication.
