Hi, I will describe what I found for your questions 1. You need certificates for Exchange 2007’s features like OWA, Autodiscover, ActiveSync and other services all use SSL for communication. But if you disabled SSL, certificate is not necessary. (Atleast you should have a self signing certificate) 2. You need different certificates for different services with different MX records. 3. In order to use Autodiscover for non-domain clients, you must use SSL. 4. If you use multiple IP addresses, you need a minimum of two certificates — one for the mail server’s services, such as OWA, and another for Autodiscover. 5. Unified Communications Certificates are there which supports to protect multiple URLs and domains. These kinds of certificates are more expensive than regular certificates Regards from www.windowsadmin.info
