OWA 2013 NK2

Just wondering why N2K /recent contacts are not stored in the mailbox rather than on the client in an nk2 file...?

when emailing someone in OWA 2013 it remembers the email address across OWA sessions but does this then pull does to outlook and vice versa?

Hi KingMT,

When you start Microsoft Outlook 2013 for the first time, your nickname cache (stored in the  <var>profilename</var>.nk2 file) is imported into a hidden   message in your default message store.

After the nickname cache is imported, the   <var>profilename</var>.nk2 file is renamed to   <var>profilename</var>.nk2.old. On the next start of Outlook, your nickname cache is not imported. Outlook 2013 does not use the .nk2 file for maintaining your nickname cache. All updates to your nickname cache in Outlook 2013 are made to the hidden message in your default message store.

If you use Outlook Web App and also a desktop version of Outlook, you need to know that each have their own Auto-Complete List.

The auto-complete for Outlook is specific to Outlook and is not shared by Outlook Web App (OWA). OWA will maintain its own auto-complete list.

Hi ,

From outlook 2010 onward's autocomplete cache is stored on the exchange mailbox and not in the .NK2 file .
