OWA 2003 Problem
I've got a problem with my home Exchange 2003 SP2lab. I hope someone can help me figure it out. The link below is a screen shot of what I get when I log into OWA with Premium selected on the FBA login screen. http://www.tech-corner.org/downloads/owaproblem.jpg My lab environment consists of 3 servers (one acting as my domain controller, one as the Exchange 2003 backend, and one as the Exchange 2003 frontend). Everything was working fine until I decided to try and use the frontend server as a regular web server as well. I installed MySQL and PHP on the box. During the PHP configuration I applied some settings at the Default Web Sites levelthat got pushed down to my default web site and the Exchange virtual directories. I looked at my production Exchange environment and tried to get things back to normal, but continued to have problems. So I decided to uninstall Exchange from the frontend server. Once I did that I went ahead and verified that the default web site was working with PHP and MySQL. I then proceeded to reinstall Exchange 2003 on my frontend server. During the install I received the following message: "Exchange detected that "C:\Windows\system32\MAPI32.dll" is not the correct version to run exchange system manager or Exchange Server 2003. This may cause failure in Exchange System manager, affect availability of your server or both. For more information see Microsoft Knowledge Base Article Q266418 at http:\\support.microsoft.com." I continued the installation and once it was complete I applied SP2, and configured the server as a frontend server. When I tried OWA I was presented with the problem that you can see from the above link. Any help on trying to resolve this is greatly appreciated.

Istarted gettingthat messed-up OWA screen after simply installing some software on my frontend server. After unsuccessfully seeking an answer on the Internet, I resolved it by uninstalling Exchange 2003, and then reinstalling it and all of its' patches.

This looks alot likeyour front and backend servers aren't at the same patch-level. Last I saw this exact problem, is when I installed a new backend server and patched it up fully - while the same had not been done to all out other exchange servers. This gave me that exact OWA page, when trying to connect to the new server. The culpritwas this patch, which i uninstalled and it then worked as it should:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/924334/en-us So make sure both servers have that patch installed, or that both servers don't have it installed.

Thanks for both responces. I had already tried uninstalling Exchange and re-installing it, but that hadn't helped. My backend server didn't have Hot Fix 924334 installed, but my frontend did. I went ahead and installed on both servers though and that fixed.

That's right installing Hot Fix 924334 on the Front-End Server cures the problem instantly
