OPATH Test
Is there a way to test OPATHqueries without creating a dynamic distribution list? In Exchange 2003, you could type in the LDAP query and click on "Find Now" to see if the query was working. In Exchange 2007, this doesn't seem to be available. Also, dynamic distribution lists created through PS can't be previewed throug the EMC (it crashes - or is that just me?).

Next, how do you preview which users are being picked up by this filter? Exchange Server 2003/2000, and AD Users & Computers (in Windows Server 2003) let you preview which recipients are picked up when you create a LDAP filter. Theres no equivalent of the preview feature in Exchange shell. Not a problem, lets head over to the Exchange console to preview, you say http://exchangepedia.com/blog/2007/01/adventures-with-opath-some-annoyances.html

My EMC errors out when I try and preview a dynamic group that has a recipient filter, MyDynamicDL. I get the error: Cannot convert value "litwareinc.com/Users/MyGroup" to type Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Directory.ADObjectID". Error litwareinc.com/Users/MyGroup does not represent a valid distinguished name. I created the group, MyDynamicDL using an OPATH filter, but I cannot preview the group membership because I created it using an OPATH Filter??? Huh? Thanks.

The solution to this problem is to install the rollup 5 pack for Exchange 2007 SP1, which can be found here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=652ED33A-11A1-459C-8FFE-90B9CBFE7903&displaylang=en Best regards, Gary
