OOF not working correctly with Outlook 2010/Exchange 2010
Hi All, I am facing a problem with OOF with Outlook 2010 across our organisation. I have noticed that when we set the out of office for 'Inside my organisation' & 'Outside my organisation', any external and internal senders will receive the 'Inside my organisation' message only. The auto reply for the external one never gets sent out. This is effecting all users in the same way. To quickly set the background, we orginally had a Win2003 DC and Exchange 2003. I introduced a Win2008 DC and Exchange 2010. I migrated between the servers and moved all mailboxes. Generally all went well without problems. I have had a look over the below link and have removed part 7 - e only. The other parts of point 7 would not delete as it came up with an error 'Function lpMAPIProp->SaveChanged(KEEP_OPEN_READWRITE)' http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvrgeneral/thread/6df2f92b-7c0c-4bca-aa43-b97288254bfe After following this link on my own user account, I now find that my OOF does not work at all. To try and get back to square one I created a new Outlook profile, but this has made no difference. So now its even worse that when I began, at least for my account. Any help would be much appreciated John

MFCmapi.exe uses the link to your mailbox at the store or exchange level. It does not configure much on the Outlook client level. I would create another test Account to compare or maybe someone has better ideas

Is this happening for all users or few users?

Hi All, On my account where I have completely broken the OOF functionality, it does not matter if the OOF is set via Outlook or OWA. It still does not work. I have also tried creating a new Outlook profile which doesnt make any difference. For all other users (except me), OOF is working OK. The problem with everyone else is that the reply that is sent is the one for 'Inside My Organization' rather than 'Outside My Organization'. It is like Exchange is having difficulties in working out where a mail originates from? The only reason my own account is worse than everyone else's is that I'm the guinea pig, and hoping to fix it before I roll out to everyone else. I have also followed this link which talks about a tool mdbvu32.exe and cleaning up records starting with 'cb:'. http://www.msexchange.org/articles_tutorials/exchange-server-2007/tools/troubleshooting-out-of-office.html I'm afraid to say that I have 'cb:' records at all. Then I checked a working mailbox and they too have no 'cb:' records, so perhaps the above link is not applicable for Exchange 2010. I'm leaning towards ditching my mailbox and starting again. Help! :-)

Please open the problematic mailbox via OWA and verify whether OOF can work or not. If not, I suspect the issue may occur by the user profile. You may need remove the user profile and recreate it in AD.
