OL2010 Out of memory or system resources error

Hello all,

i´ve seen a number of posts regarding this error already but none could resolve my issue.

While adding pictures to my contacts i get the error "Out of memory or system resources. Close some windows or programs and try again.". the picture itself is a 54KB jpg. I tried the following already with no luck:

* removing ost file
* Starting with /resetnavpane
* checked KB 2297543 but i only have one exchange account (and 3 IMAP accounts
* Started in safe mode to ensure no add-ins affect memory - same error

Is there a limitation in the number of contacts/size of contacts/etc?

I run Windows 7 64-bit, 8 GB RAM (5.5 free), Outlook 2010 32-bit, 450 contacts (3.3 MB). Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Dirk

The issue was due to a malformed jpg image. The error message is not helpful but it´s definitely not a resource or memory problem - rather a corrupt image!

I have the same problem.  I have been running Outlook 2010 on Win7 for several months.  This error just started in the past 2 weeks.  The first time I had many open files/sessions (word, chrome, etc.).  Today I had very limited active sessions/apps and the content of the email was all text - no images.  Sounds like a bug in Outlook to me.

This error message occurs in editing an Outlook contact when you try to insert a person's picture, in certain circumstances.  For one, if you are in the Firefox browser and right-click on the image desired for insert in the contact you will see near the top of choices, "Copy Link Location".  That is the wrong choice and will give you this misleading error message.  The correct choice is further down, "Copy Image Location".  That works and you don't get the error message.
