OFFICE 2013
After reinstallation of Office home and student 2013 on my laptop, I suspect that the office is not satisfactorily installed. One of the issues is - Older format files still open in older format only. How do I check whether its properly installed or not?

Hi,

What do you mean by "Older format files still open in older format only."? Do you have any other version of Office installed on the same machine?

Office will not change the format of the older format files. For example, Word 2013 can open Word 97-2003 format (.doc) documents, but the file extension will remain as .doc.

Try to launch any Office application, perform some common operations and see if there is any issue. In case Office doesn't work properly, as an intial troubleshooting step/workaround, I suggest repair Office from Control Panel, then try again.
