OAB Sync Errors with Exchange 2k7 and Outlook 2k3
Hello (or should I say ehlo), I have just setup Exchange 2007 SP1 (my first Exchange install) in a lab. I am Using Outlook 2003 as the client. Outlook is setup to use Cached Mode. In Exchange, the default offline address book is set for public distribution and is set for versions 3 & 4. The Offline Address Book is set for the "Default Offline Address Book" in the First Storage Group/Mailbox Database. There is a Public Folder Database setup in theSecond Storage Group. I can send and receive email, but always receive the following message in Sync Issues. 15:55:17 Synchronizer Version 11.0.8200 15:55:17 Synchronizing Mailbox 'William Firkser' 15:55:17 Synchronizing Hierarchy 15:55:17 1 folder(s) updated in online store 15:55:18 Done 15:55:18 Microsoft Exchange offline address book 15:55:18 0X8004010F I've been researching this for days and getting nowhere. Any ideas would be most appeciated.

I've been having the same issue for quite a while, based on your Outlook version being 11.0.8200 I'm guessing that you're running Office SP3? With SP2 Microsoft switched from using Public Folder distribution (OAB v3) to web based distribution (OAB v4) which is the same version/method Outlook 2007 uses. What's weird with my setup is that I don't receive errors when using Outlook 2007, but I do when using Outlook 2003 SP3... One thing to check is to make sure the certificate on your CAS server has all of the possible server names (including autodiscover.<your domain name>.com and <your domain name>.com) and that the client trusts the Certificate Root that created the cert.

I'm not using a CA, butit does appear to be a trust or permissions issue. The OAB has been created using versions 3 & 4. I'm going to upgrade to Outlook 2007 and see what happens. It could just be an Outlook 2003 issue.

Does anyone know the solution to this? I'm having the same issue. I have all OABs enabled for all client types but only web-distribution seems to be working. Outlook 2k3 clients get the following error whenever they send/recieve:15:55:17 Microsoft Exchange offline address book15:55:17 0X8004010F

This is not a very difficult error to fix. Make sure you have checked the following: 1) In the EMC under Org/Mailbox/Offline Address Book, check the settings, make sure Web Distribution and the virtual directory OAB have been selected. 2) In the EMC, under Server/Mailbox rght click the mailstore database you sue and check the Clients tab and ensure again that Offline Address has been selected. 3) in the EMC, under Server/Client Access (assuming this EX2007 is a all in one build), check the urls for OAb under Offline Address Book 4) Run Outlook Test Conf, by right click+ctrl on Outlook taskbar icon. Ensure the OAB addresses showing up Should be something like https://[servername]/[code]/oab.xml Check the url, if you get an error, permissions issue most likely in IIS. 5) Run in EMS, get-offlineaddressbook; ensure it points to the virtual directory. 6) Reply back on your status.

1) Versions: {Version2, Version3, Version4}2) The default offline address list is selected. We have multiple domains that each need their own OAB though, so no one is using the default one.3) Not an all in one build, but the URLs are all set to https://<OWA>/oab. Web distribution seems to work fine, its public folder distribution that we are having trouble with.4) That works fine, but again, only Outlook 2003 clients are having this problem, not 2007.5) VirtualDirectories: {OAB (Default Web Site), OAB (Default Web Site)}6) See above

Install SP3 for Office 2003. Also, in Outlook 2007, try downloading the Address Book and make sure no synch errors occur. You may also want to try to create a new OAB and re-link it to the database. Make sure Public Folder distrubtion is checked.

SP3 for Office 2003 is installed.Outlook 2007 clients are able to download the OAB without any problems. The OAB is configured for public folder distribution (per my last post).
