OAB Error HRESULT: 0x80072030 and Outlook Error 0x8010194
My users are getting error 0x80190194 in Outlook 2007 after clicking Send/Receive. When I attempt to update their OAB I get an EMC error of 0x80072030 saying that the object cannot be found. Sure enough when I look in the the OAB folder (C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\ClientAccess\OAB) it's empty.I know autodiscover is working, but obviously cannot find my OAB's because they don't exist.I have multiple OABs for a few hosted organizations on my Exch07 server and the only one set as the Default is the "Default Offline Address Book".I found Lyle Epstein's guide (http://www.kortekservices.com/lyle/) very helpful for what I configured, but could I have a permission problem here?My OAB's are not being generated. I tried Updating the OAB's through the EMS, but I get a "HRESULT: 0x80072030" error. I've restarted the MSExchangeFDS service. I added my server's name to the three services found from the "Get-OutlookProvider" cmdlet.Anyone have any experience with this situation?

Ente, yes it is a permissions problem. Reset your permissions and follow this Microsoft Guide from David Goldman. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/bb936719.aspxand that should fix it. My guide was written for Exchange 2007 SP0 and the new one is for SP1. I will be updating mine shortly and will republish. it to the web. Lyle

I'm actually still running Exchange 2007 RC and have yet to install SP1.I will give this white paper on SP1 a look through to see if it is applicable to my situation. It's funny because I almost entirely forgot about this thread because none of my clients have complained of this error once I got autodiscover working for multiple virtual domains. However, I know this is still an issue on my server because I just tried to Update one of my OAB's within EMC and received error HRRESULT: 0x80072030

I followed the guide for Virtual Hosting on SP1 and tried to change OAB permissions, but I ran into a snag: [PS] C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator.EXCHA>Remove-ADPermission $container -user "NT AUTHORITY\Authenticated Users" -ExtendedRights 'ms-Exch-Download-OAB' ConfirmAre you sure you want to perform this action?Removing Active Directory permission "Offline Address Lists" for user "NTAUTHORITY\Authenticated Users" with access rights "'ms-Exch-Download-OAB'".(default is "Y"):Cannot remove ACE on object "CN=Offline Address Lists,CN=Address Lists Container,CN=My Company,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=excha,DC=mydomain,DC=net" for attribute "ExtendedRight (ObjectType: bd919c7c-2d79-4950-bc9c-e16fd99285e8)" because it is not present. At line:1 char:1+ R <<<< emove-ADPermission $container -user "NT AUTHORITY\Authenticated Users"-ExtendedRights 'ms-Exch-Download-OAB' My guess is that 'ms-Exch-Download-OAB' was implemented in SP1 and I am still running the RC. Thoughts?

I guess it is not implemented in SP1 since Exchange team blog gave an article with this extended rights in 2006 http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2006/10/16/429204.aspx Check at below place to see if extended rights exist in RT. CN=ms-Exch-Download-OAB,CN=Extended-Rights,CN=Configuration,DC=DomainName,DC=com

I checked and the right exists in the proper location. However, I keep getting the same error claiming that the object is not present.

Try and follow this first, then try the commands. http://blogs.msdn.com/dgoldman/archive/2008/04/03/how-to-prepare-your-organization-for-exchange-2007-address-list-segregation.aspx But I suggest that you upgrade to SP1..... Not sure why you are getting the OAB issue,I have not run into this on my test and production servers. Lyle

Thanks for the link Lyle.At this point it looks like I need to take a weekend of upgrading the server, resetting AD permissions with DSACLS from the link you posted, and then follow the whitepaper in re-segregating my hosted domains. Is there anything else anyone can suggest before taking the dive?
