Notify user that a mail has arrived.
Hi,I have a couple of users (directors) thatshare their mailbox with their PA. The also have a personal mailbox that the PA does not have access to but they do not usually monitor this mailbox. Is there a way in Exchange to fire off a message if an email arrives in this personal mailbox to the shared mailbox with a 'Check your other mailbox' type message? If so, how? Thanks for your time.

You could create a rule that will display a desktop alert. Is this mailbox also loaded up in Outlook as well?Mark Morowczynski|MCT| MCSE 2003:Messaging, Security|MCITP:ES, SA,EA|MCTS:Windows Mobile Admin|Security+|http://almostdailytech.com

Mark,The restricted mailbox will not generally be used or viewed. This may well be ok to setup for when the director is in the office but generally they are not, they are out and about. They all have Blackberries connecting to a BES account and we do not allow them to add a BIS connection which would allow them to see the new emails as this is not supported by RIM. It works, but is not supported. This is why we need the server to create a new message alert going to the 'shared' mailbox without any of the contents of the original email. For your info, the Exchange is 2003.Thanks for the help.

Per my knowledge, theres no method that can accomplish this task in the exchange 2003 natively. I would suggest you to redirect all mails from personal mailbox to shared mailbox, and then set granular permissions to the folder level on the shared mailbox, ensure the folder that receive the mails from personal mailbox wont accessible for the PAJames Luo TechNet Subscriber Support (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/subscriptions/ms788697.aspx) If you have any feedback on our support, please contact tngfb@microsoft.com
