Not receiving emails i CC, BCC or send to myself using Outlook 2010

Hi all

I'm hoping someone can help.

I am using Outlook 2010 for my emails and i am set up on IMAP. Whenever i send an email to myself on my laptop by putting my email addesss in the to field, CC or BCC field i do not receive the email. If i send myself an email on my Android phone i receive it.

Is there a way of me being able to receive emails i send to myself.

Any help would be apprechaited.

Thanks in advance

Thank you for using Microsoft Office for IT Professionals Forums.

From your description, I understand that  you didn’t receive email by yourself. If there is any misunderstanding, please feel free to let me know.

Suggestion

1.       You have searched the mailbox with an Advanced Find, and searched email from yourself

Tip : How to Enable or disable Instant Search you can refer to this link

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/enable-or-disable-instant-search-HA010354972.aspx?CTT=1

2.       Check Rules.  Is the rule affect your email address? If so please turn off/delete the rules.

3.       Junk E-mail.  If your email address in the block list, please delete it

Please take your time to try the suggestions and let me know the results at your earliest convenience. If anything is unclear or if there is anything I can do for you, please feel free to let me know.

Hope that helps.

Sincerely

Was there any resolution to this topic. I have the same problem

I have run into this and it is highly annoying. (Not sure what in the world the suggested fix above is all about.)

Outlook seems to be outsmarting itself. If the e-mail ID address from which I'm sending a note is bob@foo.com and I'm including bob@foo.com in the addressee list in either To:, CC:, or BCC: (I've only tested CC and BCC) Outlook seems to take the shortcut of copying it into the in-box and not actually sending it out to bob@foo.com. It's as if MS has done the thinking for me and assumes it knows what I want to do .... it doesn't.

There are many reasons why I might want to cc the very same e-ail address and I want it sent out to the mail servers, like if I bob@foo.com is shared by my wife and me and I want her to see the note I've sent out under that ID I'll BCC it and I'll actually want it sent out, not simply pretended to be sent out.

It are design points like this in MS products -- i.e. they assume they know better than me what I'm trying to do -- that motivate me to avoid them.

I have the same problem, and these directions did not help me. I have made sure that I'm not blocking myself by adding myself to the safe list. I have checked the rules. I have checked junk-mail. So no, your answer did not help.

This is a big problem because I send test messages to myself from constant contact. The only way I can view them is from the web portal of my e-mail address, not inside Outlook.
