Not able to repair Exchange database.
Hi, We have Exchange Server 2003 SP2 installed on Windows 2003 SP1. Exchange database were dismounting. After checking further it showed that the hard disk is physically damaged. When trying to copy the DB we receive a cyclic redundancy check error. We tried to defragment the DB to a different location, but this gave an error. Using exmerge did not help that much either since the information store keeps dismounting after 10 minutes or so. To make it worse there is no backup. The Exchange Server was installed around a month ago, and since we never run a backup all the log files are still available, and they should be consistent to the current Exchange DB (priv1.edb). What is the best way to proceed to recover these log files into a new database? Regards, Michel.

I am afraid you are outof luck. Because you did a offline defrag the databse ID changes and all your transaction log files will be useless. If you cant mount your store and have it running, the only thing I can think of is Ontrack's PowerControls for Exchange http://www.ontrackpowercontrols.com/
Free Windows Admin Tool Kit Click here and download it now
