Not able to map multiple PST files on MS Outllook 2010 / Windows server 2008 R2

Hi

User has 3 .pst files in his roaming profile directory.   He can only open 1 .pst file at a time.  If he tries to open a subsequent .pst file, he will get the error - 'The file h:\document\ta.pst is not an Outlook data file(.pst)' .  Is there a way for him to open all 3 .pst files at the same time?

I have tested with win2003 with office 2003 - the 3 .pst files can be opened simultaneously.

Thank you and kind regards

Try to copy the other .pst files to a local hard drive and make sure they're not Read-Only. Open it with Outlook 2003 to check if the error still appears.

If yes, the PST might be damaged and please try doing a repair of the PST file and check if that helps,

If no, please create a new unicode format PST file in Outlook 2003 and move all of message items into the new one. Move that one to roaming folder and then re-open it again.

BTW, what's the size of PST for these three .PST file?

Hi Tony,

I have tested with different PST file sizes, still same problem.

I have also tested it by mapping the same files from Windows Desktop via network share...didn't see any problem.

It's only appearing when I do it via RDP from win2008 R2.

Our environment scenario matches this section;

Outlook 2013 or Outlook 2010 hosted remotely by using Windows Server 2008 R2 Remote Desktop Session Host (RDSH) or Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) configuration

We are setting up a Citrix Hosted Shared Desktop solution.

The OS is Win2008 R2 & the PST files are moved/stored to each users personal network storage which is hosted by Hitachi Storage.

We don't see network as an issue as the server network through put is 10GB.

We are also performing the same steps but hitting with error.

Appreciate your help.

Kind regards

Suriyana
