Normal.dotm shared location in office 2010

I need a way of setting the normal.dotm path to a shared folder. The reason for this is that we use VBA macros and acronyms on ca 200 workstations. Both the the acronyms and the Macros are updated regularly and we need to be able to update the normal.dotm instantly on multiple Machines. Network downtime is not an issue since everything is network-dependant.

I now from other answers to this question that the normal.dotm is personal and should be considered a scratchbook. However, I know it can be done since my own office installation has the path //server/templates/" for templates and not the normal c:\users\username\Appdata\microsoft\roaming\Templates\ and it works just fine. I just haven't been able to reverse engineer this. Policy or registry Changes perhaps?

This should be in all caps, but I don't shout in forums:

Do not share the normal template. It is not designed to be shared. Doing so will cause problems. This is not me speaking, this is the advice from Microsoft as far back as Word 97.

That said, there are great ways to share macros and AutoText (acronyms?). This is through using additional Global Template(s)  that hold both. Ideally, these will be in each user's Startup Folder and updated upon each user's login.

Yes, the normal template can be in a remote location or in any location you want to designate. I don't keep mine in the roaming profile, either.
