Non existing domain user causing Email bounce backs
We have a problem whereby an old domain user, who has been removed from Active Directory, including Email account, keeps cropping up in a non deliverable message when the users are sending calendar invites to other recipients; E.G, Bob sends Mick, Nick and Clive a calendar invite and Bob gets an Email from admin@domainname.co.uk saying that Steve doesn't exist. See below Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients. Subject: Accepted: meeting Sent: 01/07/2010 12:05 The following recipient(s) cannot be reached: Steve on 01/07/2010 12:05 The e-mail account does not exist at the organization this message was sent to. Check the e-mail address, or contact the recipient directly to find out the correct address. <server.domain.local #5.1.1> I've searched AD for Steve and his name doesn't crop up anywhere. I've checked the client PC's to see if there were any deligations set up previously for this user but nothing. Any ideas would be appeciated, thanks

Hi, Seems to mee a forward had been set for any of the recipient to Steve . You can also check on outlook (for each of the recipeints) for delegates. Regards,Laeeq Qazi|Team Lead(Exchange + Sharepoint + BES + DynamicsCRM) www.HostingController.com

Hi, You can check whether Steve has been added to any mailbox as a forward account like this in EMS: Get-Mailbox -ResultSize Unlimited | where {($_.ForwardingAddress -ne $null) -and ($_.ForwardingAddress -like '*Steve*')} If it is there then remove the forwarding using Set-Mailbox user@domain.com -ForwardingAddress $null Regards,Laeeq Qazi|Team Lead(Exchange + Sharepoint + BES + DynamicsCRM) www.HostingController.com

I agree this is most likely an existing delegate. It may even show up as just the SID on the person's mailbox.Mark Morowczynski|MCT| MCSE 2003:Messaging, Security|MCITP:EMA 2K7,EDA Win 7,ES,SA,EA|MCTS:Windows Mobile Admin|Security+|http://almostdailytech.com

Known issue of the so called 'stale' delegates. Try finding problematic user on Delegates tab of Outlook for existing users (those he might be a delegate for) setup in non cache mode. This will let you see that 'stale' delegate in the form of unresolvable SID. If this (and all from above) is of no help try something like pfdavadmin or exfolders (depends on your Exchange version) to check calendar permissions for existing user in order to locate that deleted guy. Hi Fletch, How about your question? Any updates? Please also check whether there is an Outlook rule existed in the Mick, Nick and Clive's mailbox. Similar post: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvradmin/thread/f3b2fc21-ae74-4011-a958-69468a665f9cFrank Wang
