Non-local users cannot be given rights to this server
I have userA which is attempting to grantcalendarpermissions(via permissions tab) to UserB. When they attempt to add they get the following error:One or more users cannot be added to the folder access list. Non-local users cannot be given rights to this serverI was only able to find this error linked to attempting to add a distribution list but nothing on a user. UserB has an AD Account and associated mailbox - Any ideas?Curiously, I also notice that within the GAL there seems to be a new icon - some of my users have a Red slash while other do not. Any user with a Red slash (from my limited testing) could not be added to permissions and prompts the above error. yes

Dear kakisan21,
In order to better troubleshoot the issue, I want to confirm the following information with you:
Did the error occur when you are setting permissions for a distribution group on a Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 mailbox folder in Microsoft Exchange Server 2007?
If it was, This issue occurs because you are not permitted to set folder permissions or object permissions for a distribution group in Exchange 2007.
To work around this issue, create security groups instead of distribution groups. Then, set folder permissions or set delegate permissions for the security groups.
If anything is unclear, feel free to let me know.

Found the issue - user type was set to "shared" instead of user. Switched the type to User and everything is working again. Oddly these users were all migrated from Exchange 2003 yet somehow were classified as a shared mailbox instead of a user mailbox.yes

You can also get this with converted groups. Heres some more information that might be helpfull,
Outlook Error - 'One or more users cannot be added to the folder access list. Non-local users cannot be given rights on this server'

Hello
The account I support has kicked off a Notes to Exchange 2010 migration. I am starting to see the same thing happen to users who have been migrated. Exchange is in a resource forest. Recpient type for mailbox owner and delegate is usermailbox, recipient
type details are linked mailbox.
User is not adding the delegate from his local Contacts but from the GAL. I beleive they're using Outlook 2007
Any ideas about this scenario?
Thanks
