No Check Out option when using Office 2013 and SharePoint Workspace

Ive been using Office 2010 and SharePoint Workspace for some time.  When I open an Office document from Workspace, it will open read-only by default, but I get a yellow Check out button at the top if I want to edit it.  This is the same behavior when opening the document from SharePoint (in IE).  I recently updated to Office 2013 and this no longer works when opening from Workspace if I open a doc from Workspace, it opens in read-only mode, but there is no Check Out option at the top.  Ive also looked under File, Info, Manage Version and all it says is There are no previous versions. If I open the same document/spreadsheet from SharePoint in IE, I get the Check Out option as expected.

I know SharePoint Workspace is part of Office 2010 but not Office 2013; is this just an incompatibility with 2013?

Hi,

Workspace has been replaced with One Drive for Business.

Try to use Sharepoint 2013 or you might need to stick with browser (SharePoint in IE).

THanks,

Hi Mike,

Did you ever get this to work?

Thanks,
