Newest windows Update knocked out my internet connection
I'm not 100% sure but that's the only change I made that could have have triggered what happened.I downloaded the newest update about an hour ago July 8, 2008 10 pm or so and my internet wouldn't cooperate. I'm on a wireless router if that makes any difference. Had to do a system restore to get my internet back up. Any news on this? Anyone else have this problem?

The same thing happened to me, and it was one of the updates.I'm also using a wireless router, though I doubt that is the problem since (A.) the PC that I'm on is connected to that router via an ethernet cable and not via a wireless connection, and (B.) removing the router from the equation by connecting the PC back to the cable modem directly didn't help. Nothing I did fixed it and allowed me to connect until I did a system restore to a point before the updates.Any idea what I should do besides not applying these updates, or should I just keep them hidden and remember that applying them will stop me from being able to connect?(edit)Upon closer inspection it seems I should have paid attention to the section this post was in, rather than responding to it just because it was the only thing similar to my problem that I could find. Also, I found this which may or may not be related to you problem, I only know that I do happen to be running ZA.http://forum.zonealarm.com/zonelabs/board/message?board.id=cfg&message.id=52725http://forums.zonelabs.com/zonelabs/board/message?board.id=cfg&thread.id=52785

Ya, I've just avoided the updates altogether. Hopefully they fix whatever it was they put out. Kind of shady about getting any updates now.
