New to exchange - looking for pros and cons of a fix...
Hi, Exchange gurus... I've been asked to look into the pros and cons of implementing a possible fix for an issue we're having. We are still in the troubleshooting phase to make sure we actually need to implement this fix, but in case we do, I wanted to ask folks for their ideas of pros and cons. We're looking at possibly increasing the MaxFieldLength and MaxRequestBytes in IIS if we determine the problems are related to users' very large 13-15k Kerberos tokens. We were planning to implement the fix based on this article: http://blogs.technet.com/surama/archive/2009/04/06/kerberos-authentication-problem-with-active-directory.aspx It says that there are no downsides if this is implemented on a 64-bit system (which all of our Exchange servers are) because it's "handled in kernel mode". Could someone explain that to me and reassure me that there are absolutely no concerns with making these changes on 64-bit systems? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

The way you've worded the question ("... absolutely no concerns ...")makes it unlikely that anyone's going to offer that assurance.I'll say that the way that the memory's managed in an X64 machine issufficiently different that I wouldn't worry too much about it.---Rich MatheisenMCSE+I, Exchange MVP--- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP

I suppose I can understand that - even though its not like anyone here is legally bound to their answers... Anyway, I appreciate the advice, Rich.
