I have just installed Exchange 2007. I created one user, and tried to send mail to that user from the administrator account, however the mail just sits in the outbox of the administrator, and is not sent. I have logged in as the other user, and I get the same thing. When I try to send mails using OWA, the mails move into the drafts folder, and they are still not sent. I have restarted the mail submission service, and the transport service, but the mails are still stuck in the outbox. Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve this? Thanks.

Have youcreated a send connector with * as the address space.

This is normal behaviour when Exchange cannot for any reason contact a Hub Server in the same site or when the HUB server is "too busy" to process requests. Make sure you have an HT in the same AD Site as your mailbox server, that the HT & MBX servers can communicate with one another & the default send connector mentioned above is there.

I thought of something else.Are you getting any events in your application log talking about high pressure? (Event ID: 15002)I had this same problem because the disk that the queue database is located on had less than 4GB of free space. Thanks for your help guys. There was 'high pressure' on the Edge Transport role, and as a result, it had shut itself down. This is a test server as well, and the disk was pretty small. I have now resolved the problem.
