New Mailbox Store, not showing as shared on passive server

Hi all,

We created a few new mailbox stores and with them a few new databases.

We are running a Cluster, so we have an active and passive node.

The new Mailbox Store folders show up on both servers and appear to be updating on both, however the folder on the passive node is not showing as shared, like the other mailbox stores that are there.

Is this normal, or did we miss a step when creating the new store?

Hi,

You have mentioned mailbox store above, so I would like to verify your Exchange server version at first.

What's more, I don't know what do you mean by "Mailbox Store folders". They refer to database files (edb filed, log files) or database?

Besides, you also mentioned active node and passive node. If you use DAG, the active node database status should be mounted, passive node database status should be healthy, not shared.

Hope it helps.

If you need further assistance, please feel free to let me know.

Best regards,
Amy

Hi Amy,

We are running 2007

When I say Mailbox Store Folder i mean the storage group folder:

\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\Mailbox\STORAGEGROUP\DATABASE.edb

On the active node, all of the \STORAGEGROUP\ show as shared.

On the Passive node, all but the new stores show as shared.

I want to make sure I created the new stores and databases correctly, and if we have a failover those stores will be online

On the Active, everything does show as mounted and on the Passive, everything does show healthy within Exchange Console
