New Exchange 2010 with two Exchange 2003 Servers and Smarthost
Hi All. I currently have two Exchange 2003 servers (Mail1 and Mail2) and a smart host defined (a Ironport device). Mail1 is the primary server. I have installed a new Exchange 2010 server but was receiving errors after installation that all users did not have permission to send e-mail (this was from all the exchange servers), so I removed the routing connectors. I have tried to follow the white papers on creating the routing connectors, but each time I receive the same errors. Any help on how to create the routing group connectors to the 2003 and 2010 server and how to set the smart host in 2010 would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks everyone for the replies. With your help, I finally have mail working to the 2010 server! I have no idea what I was doing wrong before but it's working now. :o) One final question, if I remove the Exchange 2003 server, how would I setup the routing connector? To remove this routing connector, it's just the remove-routinggroupconnector -identity "Interop RGC" command, correct? Then I would route from the ironport to the 2010 server? Thanks again for all the help.
