New Exchange 2010 environment questions
Our organization just decided to get Exchange 2010, we are currently using a Linux based system. There are some things I’d like to get answered before I dive into the planning phase of this project.
We are migrating 1400 users from the Linux system to Exchange and we are going to keep our external mailscanners in place. They run Linux/Mailscanner and we clean 99,999% of all spam with them so we see no use in a change there.
Is there a way for me to separate the incoming mail using any of the Exchange roles (Hub Transport?) to get some delivered to the Exchange server and some to the old Linux system. This way I could stage the process nicely. Or should I try to find a way to do it using a Linux mailserver?
Hope someone has run into similar questions here.MCITP Server Administrator

HI,
You should use shared namespace. You must create internal relay domain in exchange, then point your MX records to exchange servers. Then create send connectors pointing Linux email server as well. When message comes to the exchange server will try to find it in local AD, if it is not found will forward message to the Linux mail server through the send connecter that you pointed to Linux server.

Thanks. Guess I should go RTFM. But instead of looking for the answer in extensive documentation I got the answer in 1,5h, great time in a forum. Thanks Chinthaka.MCITP Server Administrator
