New Exch 2003 install active directory sync?
I am new to the Exchange server world. I understand all the fundamentals but this is my first hands on. I have a newly created 2003 R2 Domain Controller and installed Exchange 2003 SP2on a seperate machine running server 2003 R2. I can see all of my users in the Exchange AD but mailboxes are not being created properly when I create a new user. I am having to create the user and set up permisison and settings for email on both machines. As I understand it this should not happen, I should be able to manage all of this from one console, Correct? I believe there must be a plug-in or a connector for this but the only reference I can find is to Exchange 5.5 upgrade which I have not done, again I have a clean install. NOTE: the mailboxes for the users that were already in active directory work fine. It is when I try to create a new user with a mailbox that I am having problems. Thanks for any help.

You must do all administration from your Exchange 2003 server, Active Directory Users and Computers. Or if you want to do administration on your DC or any other client you need Adminpack and Exchange System Manager to be able to administrate users and mailbox. Deli

That's what I thought but when I create a new user from Exchange Active Directory with a mailbox the password is rejected from Outlook Express when trying to create the POP3 account. The user is created and displays in both active directories but the permission do not seem to agree.

Try to access the users mailbox from OWA. POP3 access in OE requires special formatting of user name. I will try to find the correct format Deli
