New Email Distribution Group Not Working Externally
Hi there, I have created a new email distribution group with a number of members, it works if I email the group internally but if I email the group from an external email account the email does not go through. I get no indication the email has failed and no indication from the email server. I created the group on our windows 2003 server in exchange management console andadded the members. Then I went to the active directory on our windows 2003 server domain controller and updated the distribution groups list. The group type is a Global distribution group. Please help?

Hi , are you using Exchange Server 2007 ? if yes, then here i what you need to do : Open Exchange Management Console - EMC. go to Recipient Configuration then Distribution Group. double click on your Distribution Group that you want to recieve emails from External. go to "Mail Flow Settings" Tab. then choose "Message Delivery Restrictions" and click on "Properties" on the properties page, remove the check mark beside "Require that all senders are authenticated" click OK on the "Message Delivery Restirctions" Page. then OK on your Distribution List Group Properties Page. then send from outside to the email address of your DL Group, you will be able to recieve emails from external as well. please let me know if the above steps helped you in solving your problem.
