New Accounts Default Email
As a service support expert I am always thinking of the user experience. I want to know how to customize the first "welcome" email a user receives when they connect to their newly created account for the first time. I want to deliver customized content based upon their department OU which contains general company information and resources followed by work area related content. This would be an assembling of a main template which adds together with a department specific template to construct customized content in that first email. The main template has the content relevant to all employees, i.e., company Intranet(MOSS) home page, important security reminders, phone numbers, etc. A second template would be concatenated onto this main which is chosen according to their department to deliver department specific content such as the department MOSS home page, department specific resources and information. Can someone point me to a resource which shows me how to do this?

Hi, The first email is not sent by the exchange server. It is part of the outlook installation and can be found somewhere in the outlook installation folder (as an eml file if I remember correct). You can customize this file as needed. Leif

Hi, In earlier versions of Outlook, such as Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 and Microsoft Outlook 2002, you receive a "Welcome to Microsoft Office Outlook" e-mail message in the Inbox the first time that you start Outlook. This welcome e-mail message is built into the earlier versions of Outlook. This message is automatically sent to the Inbox the first time that you start that version of Outlook. This welcome e-mail message is not built into Outlook 2007. In Outlook 2003, you can configure the registry to generate the welcome e-mail message. However, the registry entry that is used to generate the welcome e-mail message in Outlook 2003 does not apply to Outlook 2007. In Outlook 2007, you cannot configure the registry to generate the welcome e-mail message. Related information share with you: You do not receive the "Welcome to Microsoft Office Outlook 2003" e-mail message in your Inbox folder in Outlook 2003 after you install Office 2003 Service Pack 1 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/843233/en-us Hope it helps.
