Need to set a retention policy for just 2 mailboxes
We'd like to set a policy for just two mailboxes to allow retention of just 90 days worth of mail content in the Inbox. I could create a policy and apply it to just those two mailboxes but what do we do if we'd like another policy, with different settings, forInboxes on other mailboxes? You can't have more than one policy on a managed folder like the Inbox right?Orange County District Attorney

Rich, Thanks for the reply. It sounds like I should be able to do what I need however I'm still hitting a wall on this. Here's what I'm doing:1. I create a new Managed Content Settings (MCS) under the Inbox Managed Folder.2. I create a new Managed Folder Mailbox Policyand tie it to the Inbox. This is where I lose it; inside each policy, you can tie it to a managed folder, not an individual MCS. How do I create a policy for a specific MCS on a folder? I've noticed I can create another Managed Default Folder, say, for the Inbox. I could name it Inbox - 90 days and then set MCS on that. Would that work?Orange County District Attorney

Create a "New Managed Default Folder" (and give it a meaningfulname, e.g. "Inbox 15-day limit", "Inbox 31-day limit").3. Select the default folder type.4. Select that new managed default folder and click "New ManagedContent Settings..."5. Fill out the choices for this item.Select the "Managed Folder Mailbox Policies" tab.1. Click "New Managed Mailboxc Folder Policy..."2. Give it an appropriate name3. Click the "Add" icon and select the managed folder(s) from step #2in the 1st set of instructions above.Once you do it right the 1st time the light will come on! I think thehardest part is just getting past the understanding that you can havesettings for the same folder -- allyou have to do is give it a unique name and then select the defaultfolder type (Inbox, Calendar, etc.).---Rich MatheisenMCSE+I, Exchange MVP--- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP
