Need to know the storage procedures for databases in DAG .

Hi

I am planning to deploy a new Exchange server 2013 . Everything is set fine . But I have question when I provide the storage(ICSCI) for the Database and Logs separately.

The sizing has been done appropriately . I have ensured that the drive letters are same in all the member servers , is there anything related to the drive name , should that be same as well . Since there are multiple servers in the environment . We need a proper arrangement of the storage.

Kindly let me know about the same.

Thanks.

Hi Joyso,

Thank you for your question.

In iSCSI, there are following suggest for us:

  1.        Don't share physical disks backing up Exchange data with other applications.
  2.        Use dedicated storage networks.
  3.        Use multiple network paths for stand-alone configurations.

The disk speed is more than 5400RPM, we suggest the dis speed is 10000 or higher.

The more details, we could refer to the link which was given by Hinte.

If there are any questions regarding this issue, please be free to let me know.

Best Regard,

Jim

No, the drive name does not need to be the same, nor the volume ID. The path must be the same.

I recommend you use NTFS mount points and not drive letters, as they will be easier to manage.
