Need help reading the logs
Hello there everyone. I currently have Exchange 2007 SP1 installed for a client and am trying to come up with an acceptable security situation for them. They have a need for several people to have access to other inboxes. In the past, they have simply all had the password for the inboxes they needed access to, however this posed the problem of not knowing who was sending and receiving under those emails. So I have granted full permission and send permission rights to the appropriate people. I did this with the belief that I would be able to read the log files and determine who was logged in, then accessed the inboxes. So for example, if Person A logged into their OWA, then accessed Person B's inbox... then sent a message as Person B, I should be able to track it back to Person A who actually sent it. When I went back into the logs using the Message Tracker in the Exchange Console I found little information to help me determine this. I am open to suggestions on two fronts: 1) Could I permit access in a different way that would allow me to track this more easily? 2) If the information I'm looking for already exists in the logs, how do I go about finding it? Perhaps I need to be looking at some different log files? Thank you in advance for any help. It's always nice to be able to seek the answers in a knowledgeable community.
