Need help in setting up new mailbox for existing user for Exchange 2010
I must have done something wrong because the most recent mailbox is different that all the others. Example of previous users: Member of: Display Name-NH-TUSERS Organizational Unit-hillcrestnh.org/NHUSERS E-Mail Addresses: Address-SMTP nursing@hillcrestnh.org Mailbox Settings: Message Records Mangement, Federated Sharing, Storage Quotas, Archive Quotas New user: Member of: blank E-Mail Addresses: Address-SMTP ssa@hillcrestnh.org ssassist@hillcrestnh.org External-SMTP: ssa@hillcrestnh.org Mailbox settings: Message Size Restrictions & Message Delivery Restrictions In looking, I think I probably do something with Dynamic Distribution Group to get the member of right. I can't get rid of the external mail address to get it like the other users. I also don't know how to change the Mailbox settings. Could someone please help me? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, It looks like you created a mailuser and not a mailboxuser. Remove this by running: disable-mailuser ssa Create mailboxuser: enable-mailbox ssa -alias ssa Give it a try and post back Martina Miskovic

Thanks so much for your reply! Excuse me but I am going to show my lack of knowledge here. I know enough to be dangerous. I assume I do the disable in AD. How do I do it? Thanks again for your help!

No Problem R Fritz, Open Exchange Management Shell (EMS) and run the above commands. Start | All Programs | Microsoft Exchange 2010 --> Exchange Management Shell ..or find the user in Exchange Management Console, right click on him/her and choose "Disable" and after that "Create Mailbox" Martina Miskovic

Well, give the user membership of the group NH-TUSERS in Active Directory Users and Computers (ADUC) If it is a Dynamic Distribution group or not, is hard for me to tell, but look for in it EMC and you will find out.Martina Miskovic
