Need help getting my additional exchange server working!
Thanks in advance for the help! First let me give you my environment. Bear with me because it's not exactly basic!: Our windows domain "domainname.com" is currently Windows NT based. We currently also have an exchange 5.5 server. This 5.5 server is used for one very important mailbox only. Our main mail server, and the one the MX record points to, is linux (Red Hat) based. The linux mailserver forwards mail sent to this mailbox's address to this 5.5 server and our employeesaccess this mailbox using Outlook. Our goal is to replace the NT Server with a MS 2003 Server, and replace the 5.5 server with Exchange 2003. I set up the Win2k3 domain server and named the new domain "DM". I set up the full trust on both sides (at least I think I did!). I installed the Exchange 2003 on another Win2k3 box. This exchange server is joined to the new DM domain. I created a "test" mailbox and am trying to get it to send and receive outside mail. So far, no luck. When I created the "test" mailbox, the smtp email address it was given was test@DM.domainname.com Not sure if I can just change this to "test@domainname.com" or not... So with this information, any clues as to what pieces might be missing or steps I need to take to get this working? Thanks! Phil
