Need help about restoring exchange2000
Hi everyone I tried to backup my exchange 2000 and domain controller and restore them in a differnt subnet. For the test: I restore my domain controller and build a new server for my exchange 2000, install exchange 2000, recreate OU in Active Directory(using same name as original exchange 2000, same computer name), installe windows 2000 sp4 and exchange sp3copy following folders to my new exchange server ./exechsrvr/mdbdata; ./transaction logs; ./exchange information store, all files in there( all files copied to the folders same as original server) check "This database can be overwritten by a restore" in my Mail Box Store and Public Folder Store restart all exchange services, after all services retarted, both public and private store are mounted, and I can see each user name andmailbox sizeThe problem is when Itry to connect to the server by using Outlook 2003, it gave me a brandnew mail box, I didn't get all mail that are supposed tobelong to me. Also, when I check my drive"M", I'm not able to open the personl folder, it gave me an error message "M:\....com\MBX\username is not accessible. This folder was moved or removed" ISINTEG -S -FIX -TEST , nothing changed Any Suggestions Thanks in advance

That is because all mailboxes are disconnected. Since you have restored AD and Exchange the Mailbox Attributes were wiped off. You need to reconnect all mailboxes to their account. Follow the below steps How to use the Mbconn utility to generate Active Directory accounts for information store mailboxes http://support.microsoft.com/kb/271886 Vinod |CCNA|MCSE 2003 +Messaging|MCTS|ITIL V3|
