My outlook is creating 2 ost files when I launch it.

Hi Team,

I need some help as I am unable to launch my outlook. It is giving me an error message; cannot open your default folders. The information store could not be opened. I have checked; compatibility mode wasn't checked, I tried to open it in safe mode, tried resetnavpane; no go. Removed the cache mode, unchecked encryption setting; no go. I, then, uninstalled and re-installed the outlook, created a new profile but it still gives me same error.

I read somewhere to delete the profile from registry and tried that as well. I deleted profiles from registry, deleted outlook folder from c:\users\appdata\local\microsoft and then created a new profile. After following all these steps when I started my outlook; it gave me an error message; "cannot open default folders". I tried again and it gives the same error; "cannot open your default folders. The information store could not be opened". I also noticed that I have two ost files and both of them have same date/time stamp.

Below is the screenshot for your reference. Please help.

Hi,

In which folder do you store your Outlook OST file? Do you have the folder redirected? Duplicate OST files may be created if you have a folder redirection environment.

How did you configure your Exchange account in Outlook? Did you configure it manually or via autodiscover?

In addition, we may also try switching to a new user account and check if this issue is specific to the user account.

Please let me know the result.
