My ISP now requires per mailbox SMTP authentication on their SmartHost
All, I have been happily using Exchange 2003 with the SMTP Connector configured and pointing to my ISP's Smarthost to send outgoing email. Previously I was able to authenticate to the Smarthost using a single set of domain credentials. TheExchange SMTP Connector authenticatedas UserA@mydomain.com and all the other users in the organisation, UserB, UserC, UserD etc, could send emails. The ISPhas justupgraded their email infrastructure and now requires per mailbox authentication to the SmartHost. If User B tries to send an email with the current setup the email is returned from the ISP advised that UserB@mydomain.com cannot send as UserA@mydomain.com.I haveread abouta possible solution that involves setting up a SMTP Connector for each user in the organisation. But this seems like an administrative nightmare. Is there another way of doing this. I don't really want to go down thepath of configuring the SMTP routes at theclientsthemselves (Outlook 2003/2007) because I would then loose the advantage of using Exchangeto hold the emails for the entire organisation.

Did you speak with your ISP to provide any alternate method of doing so? Because it is not acceptable solution of creating a smtp connector for each user in the organization. ISP needs to give some relay setup something like without or a common authentication account from an IP address of your Exchange server as you had earlier...
