My Global Distributon list is not appeaing in my Global Address List
I create a distribution list in Exchange and then went to Outlook and Downloaded the Global Address List. I have one Global list that does not appear while others do. Any tips or suggestions for finding out why this list is not showing up? I have looked at a few solutions in the forums but none seem to work.Lee Turner IT Support Specialist

Hi there, Working on the assumption you are in cached Exchange mode and the DL isn't set to be hidden from address lists. Ensure you have rebuilt the OAB before you try to download it in Outlook, otherwise you'll simply pull from Exchange in Outlook the old OAB without the new DL. If you don't know how to do that let us know which version of Exchange and we can let you know the steps.Oliver Moazzezi | Exchange MVP, MCSA:M, MCITP:Exchange 2010, BA (Hons) Anim | http://www.exchange2010.com | http://www.cobweb.com | http://twitter.com/OliverMoazzezi

Hi Lee, Here's the Technet article to rebuild the OAB via the UI or Powershell. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa997684.aspx Oliver Moazzezi | Exchange MVP, MCSA:M, MCITP:Exchange 2010, BA (Hons) Anim | http://www.exchange2010.com | http://www.cobweb.com | http://twitter.com/OliverMoazzezi

Did you create the DL via EMC or Powershell? Can you view it when Outlook is in online mode. Is the DL hidden from address lists?Oliver Moazzezi | Exchange MVP, MCSA:M, MCITP:Exchange 2010, BA (Hons) Anim | http://www.exchange2010.com | http://www.cobweb.com | http://twitter.com/OliverMoazzezi

The DL is not checked to be hidden. I created it in EMC. I am in online mode and do not see it.Lee Turner IT Support Specialist

Is it doing this for any other DL's you have created? If not I would delete it and recreate it prior to trying to troubleshoot.Oliver Moazzezi | Exchange MVP, MCSA:M, MCITP:Exchange 2010, BA (Hons) Anim | http://www.exchange2010.com | http://www.cobweb.com | http://twitter.com/OliverMoazzezi

Sorry but this is my second attempt at recreating it due to an accidental deletion by an admin and that is why I am trying to troubleshoot it now. When they deleted it it was removed from the EMC but not from Active Directory. I tried to recreate it at that point from the existing AD entry but that did not work so I deleted it from AD and started from scratch at that point and have recreated it twice now. I have tried online and offline to rebuild the OAB and then Download the Global Address Book in both modes as well. Thanks,Lee Turner IT Support Specialist

Thanks, Lee Turner IT Support Specialist Hi Lee, Can you create a new DL successfully? Try creating a test DL and see if this is shown in the OAB successfully. If it is. I would say something is wrong with the object for this group you cannot re-create. I would interogate Active Directory to see if there's a lingering object from when it was first accidentally deleted.Oliver Moazzezi | Exchange MVP, MCSA:M, MCITP:Exchange 2010, BA (Hons) Anim | http://www.exchange2010.com | http://www.cobweb.com | http://twitter.com/OliverMoazzezi

Hi Check Via OWA, to see if the DL could be listed. Then check the Porperty of DL, in Advanced, the checkbox of Hide group from Exchange address lists is untick. CheersZi Feng TechNet Community Support
