Multiple forest root domain and single Exchange 2010
Dear All, Our organization is being merged with other organization which has already 3 different forest root domains and planning to consolidate a single datacenter where single exchange 2010 server will be deployed and manage all 4 forest root domains emails as per their organization part. The backup (ADC) of each forest root domain will be inplace in Datacenter and Exchange server shall be with High Availability of mailbox and NLB with HUB/CAS. I would like to know this would be feasible infrastructure for deploying Exchange 2010 for hosting multiple mail domains and in terms of managing emails from single server with 4 different forest root domain. Your suggestion will be highly appreciated in this infrastructure design. Regards,

Exchange really doesn't care as long as you have sufficient rights in all domains to set things up and manage recipients. Consider deploying all Exchange servers in a single domain for manageability.Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

Dear Ed, Thanks for your response, I want to give you a comprehensive view of my infrastructure and want you to understand the requirements to achive from this design . The domains are as follows: ABC.com DEF.com MNO.com XYZ.com ABC.com is in Data center and Exchange 2010 server will be part of this root domian. The email domains will be configured on this Exchange 2010 server and all forest domains will connect from Data center Exchange server and fetch their email from respected domains. I would like your guidance and assistance to deploy Exchange 2010 single server with multiple forest root domains model. Regards,

Be sure to run setup.com /PrepareAllDomains prior to installing Exchange, or run setup.com /PrepareDomain in every domain in the forest. E-mail domains do not need to match the AD domains; all domains can have addresses in the same e-mail domain, or any e-mail domain. Be sure that all e-mail domains you intend support are added using New-AcceptedDomain. That's about it.Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

Hi Just to be clear, are these all separate forests? If that is the case are you planning to migrate into a single forest at the same time as you are consolidating Exchange? Cheers, Steve

Yes, these are seperate forest and only Exchange in the organization which will be in Data center. These seperate forest domains users will connect to single Exchange server to get emails from their respected domain.
