Multiple domain and multiple exchange server
hi there, I confused on how can start this and whats things i need to consider and configure.. the situation - we have one domain - company1.com and two exchange servers and now we have taken over support for one our customer company2.com which includes their Domain controller and exhange For company2.com they would like: 1. A member DC (on our site) that sync with their primary DC which on their site. 2. A exchange server on our site to receive emails from company2.com - this is going to a seperate exchange server not our existing exchange environment. 3. Access their emails via web browser.. i.e email hosting.. 4. I would like to keep company1.com and company2.com seperate with no trust relationships... my question is: 1. Whats the best option - i.e. am i better off creating a member domain first company2.com on my LAN and then add a exchange server and add exchange for company2.com 2. If i want add jst the exchange server for company2.com on my LAN - how can i achieve this ? 3. email web hosting for company2.com - is it easy to achieve? thank you .. ameyuk

Hello ameyuk, First, I assume there's a kind of VPN, or MPLS network the connects your site to Company2 site For the domain controller, Install a server in your site, and join it to Company2.com domain, then run DCPROMO to promote this DC to ba a writable and Global Cataloug DC for Company2.Com domain. For the Exchange part, I don't quietly understand, plz list ore details about their current Exchange infra -if any-, and the desired infra. EDIT : Sure you need to go to the Active Directory Sites and Services of Company2.com domain, and configure sites/Subnets/Replication properly for the new site. Ibrahim Al Masry http://www.ibra.me/

Hi ameyuk, Above gave some good suggestion. -> 1. Whats the best option - i.e. am i better off creating a member domain first company2.com on my LAN and then add a exchange server and add exchange for company2.com A: What do you mean by the "member domain", do you mean the two domains in the same forest, but you do not want the domains trust each other, so, suppose you mean the two domains in different forests. We could create a new domain within new forest in the LAN, that means, no worried with the network. -> 2. If i want add jst the exchange server for company2.com on my LAN - how can i achieve this ? A: We could create a new domain within new forest, no use DNS, AD in the company1.com. and then create a member server in the domain company2.com, and then install exchange. -> 3. email web hosting for company2.com - is it easy to achieve? A: We could install a new ISA server as the proxy to publish the web service for company2.com, and then you could achieve it. Regards! Hi AMEYUK, If you want to just host the exchange server for other forest domain and use the account in other forest domain, we could deploy the resource forest and account forest scenario to achieve your tardet, some information for you: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998031.aspx Regards! Hi AMEYUK, Sure, the two forests need trust relationship. We could keep separate GAL. Some information in the link is good, please refer to it. Regards!
